Bio
Highah Seekah is the Reggae Festival Guide 2007 "Reggae Artist on the Rise." He was born in Savanna-la-mar, Westmoreland, Jamaica on August 6, 1980. Like many children growing up in Jamaica, Highah Seekah would sing on a church youth choir, seemingly in early preparation for his future musical aspiration. Westmoreland is also known for producing other artists such as Peter Tosh. Highah Seekah spent his first 12 years living in Westmoreland until his immediate family migrated to Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 1993.

While attending high school, he sang on the schools chorus/choir as a baritone (a baritone is a male voice of intermediate pitch, between bass and tenor). In 1997 he began to put pen to paper and voice to music and has continued building himself ever since. "At the turn of the millennium, I experienced a spiritual awakening. My consciousness took a leap forward and also became influenced by His Imperial Majesty Emperor Haile Sellassie I and the mystical Rastafari movement and way of life.” When asked what Highah Seekah means, his response is simply, “A seekah of highah consciousness. I strive to create songs to not only make one feel good but to inspire reflection and introspection on matters of Life and the Times. We must strive to know self, as the ancient saying goes, ’man, know thy self.’" His interests include Holistic Health, Energy Medicine/Healing, Metaphysics and Ancient/Indigenous Knowledge/Wisdom.

Highah Seekah now looks to take his message and music to the world stage. He will appear on Royal Inity Records’ Mad Notes Riddim compilation CD with "Body Mind & Soul." Mad Notes also features artists such as Luciano, Natty King, Jah Mason, Lutan Fyah, Gentleman, Khari Kill and Virgin Island artists such as Binghi Ghost, Pressure, Ras Attitude, Niyorah, and Batch. Other independent producers Highah Seekah has recorded with include One Harmony Records of UK, Ganjah Fyah Dub of Indianapolis, IN, Rob ‘Irish Moss’ Connelly of Northampton, MA, Ruff Riddims of Botswana, Afrika, Malone Rootikal of France, Phoenix Upliftment Records of Germany, and Irie Jam Production of Martinique.

Highah Seekah has a ‘mixtape’ entitled "Journalism 101: The Mixtape," which features 20 tracks, showcasing the artist’s vocal versatility and keen perceptive writing ability. Highah Seekah’s debut studio album is in the works and will be released in early 2008. There’s much more to forward as Highah Seekah shares his natural talents with the world. "Come fi help free-up ma people from the vestiges, that’s why we write and voice dem tune ya with the messages..."
